Well it has been a while (namely 12 months) since I have posted anything that I did not already write. For fun lets look at these predictions I put for 2013<\/a> and see what did and did not happen.<\/p>\n

Strike through means wrong<\/del>. \u00a0Bold means nailed it.\u00a0<\/strong>Underlined means jury is still out.<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Whatever team takes Johnny Football, will regret it<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. The Hawkeyes will be bowl eligible but it will be an embarrassment bowl<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. I will break down and get a tablet of some sort <\/strong>(Partial, Tress got one for Christmas)<\/li>\n
  4. Miley Cyrus will fade away<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. The House stays with the GOP but<\/strong><\/li>\n
  6. Boehner is booted out as Speaker<\/del> (I’m sad this one was wrong)<\/li>\n
  7. Senate is tighter but Dem’s and Prince Harry retain control<\/del> (I’m ok with this one being wrong)<\/li>\n
  8. Iowa gets two Republican Senators<\/strong><\/li>\n
  9. Amnesty happens\u00a0<\/strong>(Essentially it happened)<\/li>\n
  10. The Bengals make it to the AFC Championship game but lose to the…<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Basically I was about 60% right, with the option to get to 80%<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    So without further ado, here are my predictions for 2015.<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. We will be forced to get another car (despite the van purchase in November of 2014).<\/li>\n
    2. The Bengals will miss the playoffs.<\/li>\n
    3. The price of gas stays under $3.50 (locally) for most of the year and the economy is better.<\/li>\n
    4. Super Hot Summer… ugh hope I am wrong on this.<\/li>\n
    5. Before the super hot summer, winter won’t leave us until… May.<\/li>\n
    6. Senator Grassley decides not to run again<\/li>\n
    7. Obamacare goes back to the Supreme Court where it is a close decision that the subsidies thing is unconstitutional (even though we all knew that).<\/li>\n
    8. The Reds miss October play, but the Cubs get there.<\/li>\n
    9. We will have to put some major money in the house for a repair this year (hope I’m wrong).<\/li>\n
    10. I become proficient on Linux again<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

       <\/p>\n

      I also had some goals in this post<\/a>. Here they are<\/p>\n

      1. Drastically cut back on social media. \u00a0I have scaled way back my usage from about two years ago. \u00a0I am thinking that this is more of a I post occasionally on Twitter and do the necessary Waffle House Iowa Posts on Facebook.\n
          \n
        1. Mostly a success, I would like to completely ditch Facebook but it is a necessary evil it seems.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
        2. Investigate and sign up for higher education. \u00a0I have some places picked out, I don’t want to spoil it right now but I would like to start the ball rolling on this soon. \u00a0Spoiler alert though, Masters.\n
            \n
          1. Success, I got myself enrolled at Georgia Tech, however I had some learning pains. As of right now I am going to continue but I am not sure this is worth the headache<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
          2. Lose some weight. \u00a0We all say this, but I really need to take it more seriously. \u00a0It was all fun and games before with eating bacon because I could. \u00a0I probably should think about eating healthier. \u00a0My goal here is to drop about 60 pounds and keep it off.\n

            1. HA Fail, pretty sure I gained weight.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
            2. Read the Bible more faithfully. \u00a0Sure I read it often but I want to get back to where I was doing it multiple times a day and not just reading it as a history book.\n

              1. Mostly a success, I was able to read through the entire Bible in a years time (still working the last bit of Revelation right now ;). I did miss some days, and had to play catch up, which made it harder.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
              2. Witness to one person a month. \u00a0This one will be challenging but all part of the Great Commission.\n

                1. Complete Fail. No Excuse<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
                2. Spend more time with kids. \u00a0Right now I probably don’t spend a lot of time playing, reading, teaching, or interacting with my two kids. \u00a0Time is precious, and it is slipping through the hourglass of time.\n
                    \n
                  1. Partial Success, I did spend more time with them but still not enough as I should have.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                     <\/p>\n

                    So with that in mind, it is time for some new goals for 2015<\/p>\n

                      \n
                    1. Weight Loss, has to be done.<\/li>\n
                    2. Re-read the Bible, this time in chronological order.<\/li>\n
                    3. Write some sort of Mobile\/web App for train spotting.<\/li>\n
                    4. Smoke some meat each month.<\/li>\n
                    5. Get Waffle House in Iowa<\/li>\n
                    6. Work on the past goals from 2014 (see goal one from this list)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
