It’s tragic when natural disasters such as a hurricane, tsunami, tornado, or earthquake happen, however the relief effort is always headed up by the UN and the US. Unless of course it happens in the US, then the UN leaves them hanging in the wind.
I pointed out in an earlier blog entry from January 11th of this year criticizing those nations demanding that the US give more to the Tsunami victims. I mentioned where was the international aid for the California landslides and the 2004 three hurricanes that devastated Florida.
Here we are again with the aftermath of Katrina, and I am guessing that France (the lecturing nation) is not going to step up to the plate to give to Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. New Orleans even has a “French quarter” but I am guessing that the frogs feel that it is too “American”
Is it to much to ask for other NATO nations or UN nations to help? When they are anti-American and pro socialist, it sure is. Why isn’t John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, and Howard Dean lecturing France and Germany on giving to the aid? Why isn’t Bill Clinton leading an effort with Jaques Chirac? It’s because the Democrats side with the socialist and feel that only when their career is in jeopardy, or when they can look good to other socialist nations they take action
So when something happens later this year or next year down the road that kills hundreds in another nation, just remember who helped the US previously, and then look at who will be spearheading a relief effort.
