Foxnews.com reported today (2/9/2004) that an American Airlines pilot asked passengers to identify themselves if they were Christians by raising their hands. He then encouraged those passengers to take a lesson of faith from the non-Christians. (article)

When I read this my first reaction was boycott the airline, but then it dawned on me, that when I do fly, I fly United. So then I thought that this just represents what is wrong with America today. The pilot who’s name was not released, is obviously uptight if a Christian is on his flight. Why should he care? Maybe the better question would have been “Attention passengers, are their any Islamic Fundamentalist, Extremist, or Muslims aboard, if so I would like you to please disarm your self and seek help from our Christian passengers.” There is no excuse for this, he should not of mentioned it. Even if the tables were reversed and he asked Hindus to take faith advise from Christians or Muslims, he should have kept his big mouth shut.

It represents what is wrong with America because America is turning into a God-less country. It starts with we can’t pray in school, we have to take out “under God” in the pledge of allegiance simply because it offends atheist. You know what, people who do not believe in God offend me! How come they are not trying to be sensitive to my needs? And then you hear of something like this where the pilot of a commercial airline is asking Christians to take faith advise from non-Christians.

Perhaps he was drunk at the time, maybe not but I am advocating for his termination, and urge Christians to think twice about flying American Airlines.
