O’ Art where Art thou? A former co-worker of mine is missing. Art Schramm, a consultant at IHS, decided to disappear Monday morning. Now there have been reports of him being seen around other towns in neighboring counties. I hope of course that he is ok, but I am sure that he just needed his time. Art was heavily overworked for a number of borderline quagmire projects at IHS. I could easily mirror with the feeling of, “that’s it, I can’t take it anymore, I’m out of here!” However, Art if you needed time away, at least let your family know so they don’t worry, in the meantime take as much time as you need.

I read in the news that Tom Vilsack might be considering a Presidential run in 2008. I am not sure why he would qualify for that position, considering his record here in Iowa is not very good with “lefties.” It’s funny, I hear people talk about how they hate Bush and how they thought that Kerry would be a better President, yet they can not stand Tom Vilsack, and they want him out of the governor chair. It will be interesting to note if those people fold and vote for him just because they don’t like those “Wascally Wepublicans.”

Oil is at an all time high, why are we putting up with this? Where are the email’s calling for a “don’t buy gas these days.” Try this one on for size, how about we try to get everyone to not go to work day. America shuts down because of surging oil prices. Maybe that is extreme but to some its probably more sensitive than say, drilling in Alaska.

The lady who has started a protest outside of Bush’s vacation ranch is annoying. She met with the President last year and commended him calling him a man of faith. Now she is demanding that she meet with him and saying he was insensitive. She wants all troops out of Iraq now. She has obviously lost it. Yes I can mourn the loss of her son and she can too, but saying stuff like it’s the President’s fault he is dead and so forth are completely unfounded. She is under the impression that we have a draft in the armed forces, because her son signed up for this country to fight for this country, and to die for this country. How is that the President’s fault?

Finally, it is Iowa State Fair time. For the last couple of year’s Tress and I have went and we have decided not to go this year for a few reasons. First, we want to save some money. Its nice to go, but the food and stuff is all very good, but very pricey  Second, I cannot stand the crowds. Last year I went into the fair happy and excited, I left ready to hit someone. I cannot stand people in large groups who believe that because there are lots of other people it gives them an excuse to do what they want. Like stop in the middle of a walkway and have a conversation. People are supposed to walk there not talk there!
