It is always a pleasure to eat at Waffle House! It really does not matter what I order, I always feel I got my moneys worth. Usually the grading factor is the people and the service.

Ambiance:
Love it! Although in Kentucky patrons are still allowed to smoke in restaurants. But honestly second hand smoke fears aside, I am thinking that this allows a bit of nostalgia to stay with the place. As normal with any Waffle House, the age of the building (or rather the smoke/grease wears on the walls and ceiling) show that they are too busy to take time to deep clean the place. And that is not a bad thing!

Menu/Price:
Good Food Fast! That is the Waffle House way. If you spend more than $10 for one person prior to tipping, you are probably going to the hospital to get your stomach pumped from eating so much food. Since pretty much all Waffle House’s are the same, the menu is pretty standard and nothing costs more (at the time of writing) than $8, that being the steak and eggs.

Meal:
I love the Texas Cheesesteak melts. It is basically a patty melt served with some sort of chopped steak and onions and cheese (swiss I think). Next to the awesomeness of the Cheesesteak melt was an awesome heaping pile of what I believe is the best product on the menu, hash browns! I got mine the normal scattered (not ringed together like a cake), smothered (sauteed onions), covered (cheese!), and I also opted for chunked (diced ham). I cannot say enough good things about their hash browns, but I will say nothing compares.

Service:
Not this units strong point. When I attempted to speak to the Master Grill operator while he was doing his thing, I pretty much got the “Customers are supposed to eat here and not talk to us). The waitress that was taking orders, filling drinks and so forth sometimes forgot that she should go to the back room or outside to say things. Nothing bad was said but somethings should not be said in front of customers. I will admit that I was an outsider to their usual repeat customers, so they got precedence over me and my order. Not a big deal on any of this but I usually try to be objective, so this was the best thing I could nit pick.

Overall:
I went away happy and full, I don’t think I could ask for much more. I did manage to procure a coffee cup which was met with a question to another waitress coming on duty “can people buy our mugs?” followed by “how much?” At any rate I got my mug and just shook my head knowing regardless, I’ll be back.
