Aparently Cecil’s used to be a Doctor’s residence until he converted it to his medical office to see patients at. At some point it was subject to a fire but most of the building was saved and restored to what it is today.
Ambiance:
That being quaint little eating establishment that is what you would get if you took an old house, left the rooms and put tables and chairs in them. Nothing special other than the fact that a romantic (I hate that word) dinner for two here would be easily accomplished as most tables have limited neighbors. Parking is a bit of an issue as this is in a residential area, but I later found out they have a parking lot in the back.
Menu/Price:
A wide variety of everything was available, and quite the selection of fish that was advertised as being harvested locally. You could easily get a meal for two here and spend less than $30, if you stayed away from the wine. They had quite the wine selection available if that is your thing.
Meal:
Coconut shrimp is like candy to me. The only thing preventing me from going crazy and ordering four plates of these six piece appetizers we’re my manners of common decency. They were quite large and liberal (hate that word too) with the coconut batter. The Blackend Chicken Tenders were deffinatnly great, and easier to eat verus a whole blackend chicken breast. I am not sure why I choose broccoli, but it was steamed and just as I like it… plain!
Service:
Waiters and Waitress’s have a very professional attire about themselves and we’re taking care of guest requests as they came in. It did take us a while to get our tickets but when they came they were processed rather speedily.
Overall:
Knowing about the parking in advance would have helped, as we parked a ways away and walked a couple of blocks back. It was deffinatnly worth the walk, and worth the walk on they way back being as full as I was. I would like to revisit and try some fish next time, but I might throw that to the wind and go crazy with coconut shrimp.
